Processing a table top

System solutions | Mechanical and plant engineering

Task & Solution

Raptor, the robot-based manufacturing cell completes the machining process of a tabletop - step by step and with the highest precision. From the initial cutting of the raw panel to the final drill holes. The robot-based manufacturing cell has a multifunctional head with two flanges, a change interface for quick tool changes, and features internal electrical, fluidic, and pneumatic energy transmission as well as data and signal technology. The process begins with a separating cut using a saw tool, followed by exact contour formatting with a joiner cutter. The angled profile is shaped using a profiling cutter - shown in both the roughing and fin-ishing passes. This is followed by groove milling along the edges and precise pocket milling to prepare for the table leg attachments. The screw pilot holes are drilled using an interchangeable drilling unit - including an automatic tool change. Raptor contributes to increased efficiency and cost reduction. It performs complex tasks quickly, pre-cisely, and in a more space-saving manner than comparable gantry machines.
